Schmidt Sign

This was a commission piece for some friends' lake house in Northern Michigan.  Made from Red Cedar board, chosen for it's ability to weather properly and withstand the elements, which was cut in half and joined in the center the achieve the proper dimensions.  The name was carved out and filled with a specialized sign paint that is weather / UV resistant.  The chosen images were wood burned on either side of the piece to frame the name.  To finish, the entire piece was coated in Thompson's Waterseal in order to make it completely waterproof.
